In our constantly evolving world, Kiwis are now using the internet more than ever. At Enable Fibre Broadband, we’re continuing to invest in our network to make sure your future remains fibre fast.
From June, more than 100,000 homes in greater Christchurch will get a permanent increase in fibre broadband speed. We’re calling it The Big Fibre Boost.
Why?
Because internet usage is skyrocketing and the way we connect to the world is evolving faster than ever. Whether it's for work, education, entertainment or social interaction, households are streaming content, gaming and connecting, on multiple devices, all at the same time.
This is the new normal. We don’t watch TV, we stream entire seasons. We don’t buy a game disc, we download it. CD collections are gathering dust as we now rely on the internet to listen to anything, from anywhere in the world. And remember backing up onto a disc or hard drive? We now upload to the cloud.
We’re online more than we’ve ever been before with households seeing multiple users juggling multiple screens or devices – all at the same time.
The Big Fibre Boost is a nationwide initiative to boost fibre broadband speeds. Enable is joining this initiative as part of our commitment to lead the way to a faster future. We’re not just keeping up – we’re setting the pace.
“We’re committed to leading the way with greater Christchurch’s increasing data needs and delivering fast and reliable fibre broadband to our community,” our CEO Johnathan Eele says.
“We know speed matters for our community—whether for driving innovation or families staying connected. Our network is built for the future, ensuring they enjoy, high-performance connectivity that keeps pace with their digital lives."
What do you have to do to be part of The Big Fibre Boost?
Nothing. The boost will happen automatically to those residential fibre broadband users on eligible plans over the months of June and July.
