While each home installation is different we try to make this process as easy for you as possible.
Once you have ordered Enable fibre broadband from your internet service provider and all required consents have been granted, most connections will then be completed over three visits to your home.
Watch the video below to find out how Enable installs fibre from the street to your home.
01Plan
Firstly we’ll arrange a one hour meeting at your property and discuss the best approach to get the fibre from the boundary to your home. We’ll go over the options with you and get you to sign the agreed installation plan and our End User Terms.
02Build
Our technicians will complete any outside works required to get the fibre from the boundary to the outside wall of your home as per the plan. You do not need to be present for this visit unless we require access to a secure area. If you live in an apartment or unit, this work may take place in the communal area of your building.
03Connect
Finally, we’ll agree with you a time slot when you will need to be home for our technician to complete the fibre connection inside your house. You need to be home for this step, please allow four hours.
In some cases, it may take less visits – for example some homes already have a red fibre duct installed from the boundary to the outside of their homes.
Enable does not charge for a standard fibre broadband installation into your home. However, some internet service providers may charge a connection fee, so please check with them first.
Once you have connected to Enable's fibre broadband, check out ourinformation guideto ensure you're making the most of your ultra-fast connection.
Enable uses a range of installation methods depending on the property. We endeavour to use the method or combination of methods that will have the least impact on your property. We will work with you to agree the methods as part of the installation plan process.
Fence Line
Surface mounting the fibre cable to a suitable surface such as the railing on a fence.
Slot Cutting
Creating a very narrow cut no more than 15mm in a hard surface (such as concrete) usually following an existing join, installing the fibre cable and reinstating.
Trenching
Opening a trench in the ground in order to bury the fibre cable and reinstating the surface once the cable is installed.
