Johnathan Eele

Chief Executive Officer

Johnathan has more than 20 years communications industry experience in New Zealand and overseas where he has held leadership roles spanning the wholesale, enterprise, government and consumer sectors. He also has significant regulatory affairs experience. Before joining Enable, Johnathan was based in Auckland as Chief Executive Enterprise, Government and Wholesale at Vocus. Prior to that, his career included founding black + white; a specialised business telco as well as working in the UK, Ireland, USA and New Zealand for companies such as Cable & Wireless, Hutchison Whampoa, and Telecom NZ (now Spark). His roles have covered marketing, procurement, product management, sales and general management.

Ed Beattie

Chief Operations Officer

Ed joined Enable in September 2018 to lead the Operations Team; he is a seasoned senior executive with almost 40 years in the telecommunications industry. Ed has worked at the forefront of several significant broadband initiatives since the 1990s. He brings with him a drive to create a strong sense of community within the business and within the community we operate. He is passionate about leadership development to produce high performing teams and therefore a high performing business. Originally from Dunedin, Ed moved to Christchurch in 1999. Most recently he was in the executive team at Chorus (2008-2018) and Telecom before that (1989-2008).

Warren Maslin

Chief Financial Officer

Warren joined Enable in February 2018 to lead the Finance Team. He is a chartered accountant with over 30 years experience in chartered accountancy, large-corporate commercial and accounting roles, and has held a number of CFO positions. Warren has worked on a number of development projects in the natural resources sector and more recently in irrigation development. His career has included undertaking feasibility work and developing and implementing complex financing solutions including; undertaking equity raises, project financing, negotiating debt and leasing facilities and managing due diligence processes.

 

Born and raised in Southland, Warren has lived in Canterbury for the past 19 years. Most recently he was CFO for Solid Energy New Zealand Limited (1999 to 2010) and Commercial Manager/ CFO for Central Plains Water Limited (2012 to 2018).

Paul Newbound

Chief Technology Officer

Paul led the operational rollout of Enable's fibre infrastructure along with managing Enable's corporate risk.


Paul is an experienced delivery and commercial director of large scale programmes and a chartered engineer (eu). Prior to his role at Enable, Paul has directed large scale governmental transition programmes across australia and engineering and product development programmes in the telecommunications/ICT sector.


Paul is driven by both the transformational potential of fibre broadband and the challenge of deploying large-scale infrastructure in the unique Christchurch recovery environment.

Donna Frew

Chief Commercial Officer

Donna brings over two decades of senior leadership experience to Enable, having joined the team in 2021 as Head of Strategic Growth and subsequently taking on the role of Chief Commercial Officer in September 2023. Her career has spanned many industries, including technology, innovation, and agriculture. Donna's background in leadership positions across these domains has equipped her with multifaceted skills, particularly in commercial and product strategy, marketing and sales.

She seeks to nurture a positive workplace culture, highlighting the advantages of fostering diversity and leading to grow others, while prioritising the delivery of exceptional results for customers.

A born and bred Cantabrian she enthusiastically seizes the chance to be part of positive change within the Christchurch community and is one of the reasons she joined Enable.

Matt Holstein

General Manager – People and Culture

Matt joined Enable in 2021 in a leadership role within the People & Culture function. He subsequently took the role of GM People & Culture in November 2023. Matt brings a decade of People & Culture experience at a range of organisations in NZ and the UK.

Matt’s experience in different industries and work environments has helped him develop a work style and approach that blends best practice with practicality, high-quality delivery with a willingness to iterate towards an outcome, all with a relentless focus on delivering value for customers and key stakeholders. His background in sport has fuelled a keen interest in building a high-performing culture by creating an environment where people can be at their best.

A born and bred Cantabrian, he is truly energised by the opportunity to contribute positively towards the city of Christchurch and its communities.

Catherine Schache

Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer

Catherine joined Enable in September 2024 in the role of Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer.  She is a lawyer with extensive experience within law firms in New Zealand and the UK, as well as working within businesses across a range of sectors, including natural resources, software, local government and healthcare. 
 
Catherine aims to be a trusted and sought-out adviser, and achieves this by working alongside her commercial colleagues, to get to know the business and to ensure that she offers practical and clear solutions for any issues that arise.
 
Christchurch has been home for Catherine and her family since 2002 and she loves being a part of this vibrant city.
